How to increase online customer engagement -
It’s not enough these days to just have a website, and expect customers to come your way and purchase something from you. While a website will always get visitors if it’s promoted correctly, website visitors aren’t the same as customers. If you’re going to make sure your visitors buy your products or services from your website and visit again in the future, then you’ll need to have an engaging website that generates leads.
But how can you do this?
It’s not always the easiest thing to know where to make improvements. If you just know that your online customer engagement is low, then here is how to increase online customer engagement!
KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
Your website will make perfect sense to you. After all, you’re intimately in tune with it you’ve seen it develop from day one, you visit it every day, and so on. However a new site visitor will not have the same level of understanding when it comes to how to use your site. If it’s overly complicated (and by that, we mean there are many pages, it’s not clear how to access the important pages, and so on), then you can’t have too many complaints if they don’t decide to stick around that long and they come straight off your website.. Simplicity is key. Think KISS (keep it simple stupid) If you can create a sleek, easy to navigate website, giving the website visitors what they would like to see based on there unique situation then you’ll see engagement improve.
Communication
A visitor might just generally like what they see when they visit your website, but if they find that it’s difficult or impossible to get in contact with you, then they’re not going to feel all that much engagement with your site. Communication is a huge part of engagement, you can’t expect customers to feel engaged if it’s just a one-way conversation, with you as the talker and the customer as the listener. So take a look at adding new communication methods. You can do this by creating a chat room for your website, adding your phone number and address, and adding links to your social media channels for example.

Social Media
The big social media websites are a small businesses best friend. They’re more or less free to use, you’ll get access to a long list of potential customers, and you can significantly boost engagement.
Of course, this will only be true if you actively work on making your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels work for you. The number one rule is post interesting content on a regular basis! An inactive social media channel is worse than no account whatsoever.
Human Touch
Finally, look at the type of language you’re using on your website and your social media websites. Is it how people talk to one another? The internet can seem a pretty robotic place, but people like it when there’s a human factor too it.
So, don’t be afraid to bring some human warmth and feelings to your content. The level of warmth will depend on the type of business that you have it’ll be more professional sounding if you have a corporate website, and more friendly if you’re a site aimed at young families.
So please bear these in mind and consider these tactics when seeking to increase your customer engagement online.
