Why your website needs a lead magnet

Why your website needs a lead magnet - I am sure you have heard this more than a dozen times? You know, been on a website and filled out a form in exchange for that “important” piece of information!

This information can be in the form of a PDF for example that will solve all of your problems!

Lead magnets

Well lead magnets are designed to build trust and are so much more effective than the conventional “join our mailing list” newsletter type sign ups.

If the business is doing a good job, you will be given the opportunity to purchase from them with their follow up email campaign after value has been give for free, that is easy to consume.

“Customer Value Journey”

The Customer Value Journey (CVJ). This process we use in marketing is to map a journey that the prospect goes on when they become aware of a business for the first time.

This journey always goes through the same stages and, when understood, can be the foundation for all of your marketing activity. It's fascinating to learn that the CVJ mirrors closely the journey we go on with any human relationships.

For example, from awareness to advocate or first eye contact to marriage.

The Customer Value Journey starts with the awareness stage, and often, this means the prospect sees some form of advertising, Google search or social post that sparks their interest.

This leads to the engagement stage, where the prospect begins to assess whether they want find out more or start a conversation to undertake further information on your business.

Then we get to the lead magnet.

If the prospect is engaged with the website, they are likely to want to have a problem solved that is relevant to them, right there and then.

It’s likely the main reason the prospect landed on your website in the first place.

Therefore, a great lead magnet would offer to solve there problems quickly and easily, in exchange for an email address (and sometimes a few more details such as name and telephone number).

Effective lead magnets are marketing gold. The internet is full of examples of lead magnets, that prove that when this is done right, the results can be astounding.

There are few things to consider before embarking on creating lead magnet. The most important of which, is knowing exactly who your customer is.

We can do this by creating a customer avatar.

Customer Avatar

The customer avatar process helps us understand our ideal customer intimately. This allows us to put ourselves in their shoes and then we can determine the problem that they need solving. The core offer we are selling, will then be the  solution to this problem.

It is unlikely that AI will replace SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) entirely, but it may change how SEO is conducted & evolve the role of SEO professionals. AI can certainly impact SEO in several ways. For example, AI-powered algorithms used by search engines may become more sophisticated in understanding user intent and delivering relevant search results. This could affect how SEO professionals optimise websites for search engines, by placing a higher emphasis on creating high-quality, user-focused content that aligns with search engine algorithms. AI can also assist SEO professionals in automating repetitive tasks such as data analysis, keyword research, and content optimisation. This could potentially lead to increased efficiency in SEO processes and allow SEO professionals to focus on more strategic aspects of SEO, such as developing content strategies and optimising user experience. However, SEO also requires human creativity, strategic thinking, and understanding of user behavior, which may not be fully replaced by AI. SEO professionals can still provide valuable insights, expertise, and strategic planning to optimise websites for search engines and deliver the best possible user experience. So, while AI may impact how SEO is conducted, it is unlikely to replace it entirely. SEO professionals will likely continue to play a vital role in optimising websites for search engines & ensuring that businesses achieve visibility & rankings in search results. Keeping up with emerging technologies, including AI, and adapting SEO strategies accordingly can be crucial for businesses to stay competitive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
